Barnet College’s students were among thousands across the country celebrating their A Level results on Thursday 20th August. The wait was over for over 400 students at the College who were eagerly anticipating their a-level results.
Among the College’s success gaining excellent passes, were Farnaz, Gilbert and Elizabeth who bravely opened their results live on BBC Radio London 94.9FM.
This is what they had to say:
Farnaz Ostavari  I can’t put into words how happy I am. All the hard work was worth it. I want to thank my tutors at Barnet College, they have been so supportive and helpful. It’s a great place to study, and I would really recommend the College. I’m so pleased I got the grades I needed to get onto my degree course.
Farnaz achieved three A’s in Maths, Physics and Further Maths and is now off to study Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College.
Gilbert Karimi I’m so pleased with my grades, I still can’t quite believe it. I now have my place confirmed at UCL to study Chemical Engineering, which I am really looking forward to. My brother and sister both came to Barnet College and had great things to say about it, so that’s why I decided to come here to study a-levels.
Gilbert came to study at Barnet College from Kenya. He achieved an A in Chemistry, A in Maths and B in Physics.
Elizabeth Hanifin Connextions, which offer guidance and advice to young people, recommended Barnet College to me. I’m so glad I decided to study here, it’s a great place. I would urge young people to definitely consider studying at College rather than staying on at school. You are treated like and adult and are given more responsibility, which is great preparation for studying at university.
Elizabeth achieved two B’s in English Literature and Business Studies and has now been accepted onto her degree course at the University of Hertfordshire studying a degree in International Business.
