Interview Once we have received both your application and satisfactory reference forms, we will invite you to an interview. Please bring evidence of your qualifications and achievements. We aim to offer you a place on a course at your interview.
Learning support If you have declared a support need for a learning difficulty or disability, or a support need is identified during the interview, you will have an interview with a member of the Learning Support team who will discuss your support needs for the course and agree what support can be provided for you once you have started.
Language support If you have a language support need (ie ESOL) a member of the Language Development team will assess your support needs for the course and agree what support can be provided for you once you have started.
Types of offer If you meet all the entry requirements and we are satisfied with your reference, we can give you an unconditional offer of a place. If you are waiting for exam results, your reference is delayed or you need to take a practical test for your course, you will be given a conditional offer.
The conditions you need to meet will be explained to you at your interview. Most applicants with conditional offers simply need to show evidence of their exam results when they receive them.
If you receive a conditional offer, don’t worry. You should, however, consider other courses before you get your exam results. Then, if you don’t achieve the necessary grades or level of work required, you will have an alternative ready.
If the interviewing tutor decides that your chosen course is unsuitable for you at the time of interview, you may be invited to attend an appointment with a member of the careers advice and guidance team.
Exam results Don’t forget to bring proof of your exam results when you come to enrol. If you don’t achieve the grades required for your chosen course, don’t worry. We may be able to review our offer or suggest an alternative option.
Waiting list Remember that some courses fill quickly. If all the places on your chosen course have been allocated, you may be given an offer on a waiting list. This may still be a conditional offer, with requirements to meet before you are accepted. We will contact you if a place becomes available.
What happens next? We will contact you to invite you to enrolment, which is the final stage of this process.
